RECOGNITION OF FOREIGN STUDIES AND DEGREES

Through this process you can request the homologation of titles or validation of non-university studies obtained abroad. Only those who have studied according to a foreign education system can apply for homologation or validation.  Also the processing time might take from six months to a year. Studies must have the following requirements for homologation or validation:

• That the studies carried out and the obtained degrees have official validity in the educational system of the country to which it corresponds.

 

• If the studies have been carried out in a foreign center located in Spain, that this center is authorized to impart specific studies by the Spanish educational administration.

 

• That the title endorse studies surpassed according to the educational system of the country issuing it. It is not acceptable, for the purposes of its homologation in Spain, a foreign qualification obtained by type-approval, validation or recognition of another qualification obtained in a third country. 

 

• That has equivalence with the studies or the Spanish title of reference, as well as at academic level, as in duration and content of the required studies.

 

• That foreign studies are surpassed in the education system of the other country.

 

• That the person or student hasn’t previously obtained in the Spanish educational system the same title or the same studies whose homologation he requests.
